A Visit To Honey & Co.

Long story short…….. I received this gorgeous cook book from a dear client for Christmas and instantly fell in love with the flavours of the delicious Middle Eastern dishes inside.

Honey & Co. is a tiny restaurant in North London run by a husband and wife team who originated in is real and worked initially for Ottam Yottelenghi, a huge promotor of cooking with  vegetables and another hero of mine.

As soon as I found out that would be travelling to London I was determined to taste the food in person and visit the restaurant.

We were lucky enough to fill a cancellation and squeezed ourselves into the tiny restaurant.

It was everything I anticipated and more!

I ordered the Beet and Oxtail Broth (I can never resist a broth) With Pulled Beef Dumplings. It was surprisingly light and delicious and served with the oxtail knuckle still in the broth and a garnish of celery leaves.

My son ordered the Duck Breast Slow Cooked In Clementines With A Shredded Filo Pastry Top. This dish was citrussy and richly flavoured with a delightful crispy topping. It was served with a densely green and citrussy salad.

They say you should never meet your idols….but I say you should always eat at their restaurants!
